In Blitzkrieg, this vehicle combines both good armor and a decent cannon. When entrenched, it can stand its ground against Pz IIIs of all types, and Pz IV Ausf Ds, while they put up a fight, are usually destroyed. The Pz IV Ausf G, however, will usually take out a KV-1, due to its high-speed cannon. The KV-1 should be used in both the Moscow and Stalingrad chapters.

Usage[]
The KV-1s receives a slightly higher speed in exchange for weakened armor. Most the of the strategies for the KV-1 also apply here, except the KV-1s has a higher (but not overly so) casualty rate than the KV-1. It is not recommended as a replacement for the KV-1, as the higher speed is not sufficient to cover the armor loss.

A KV-85
Usage[]
The KV-85 is an up-gunned version of the KV-1, with better armor. It is comparable with the T-34-85, with lower speed. It makes an excellent defensive tank, usually able to take out Panthers when entrenched. It should be upgraded to an IS-2 as soon as available.

A KV-2
Usage[]
This tank is rarely used in the game, due to its usage in real life. In game, it is only available in the Russian introductory mission (the invasion of Finland). It is also available in certain Anthology missions, and the German campaign pits the player against a few, as well. The tank is slow, with a slow turret to match. A clever flanking manouver by a Pz Iv Ausf G should be able to kill it if it gets a few lucky shots in the side.
